Welcome to Colorado—home to 54 fourteeners, alpine lakes, waterfalls, wildflowers, hot springs, long trails, mountain towns, scenic rivers, and bike routes. Want a specific trip? Book a private journey with BE!
Each private trip is tailored to you. After booking, Belay will contact you for a consultation to learn desired daily mileage, sights, goals, preferred activities (mountain climbing, backpacking, bikepacking, packrafting), and your wanted outcome. An epic, terrain‑heavy itinerary differs greatly from a restorative, solitary one. Belay will follow up one week before departure to finalize details.
To book, select party size, trip length, gear rental option, airport shuttle (Gunnison or Montrose), and whether BE should book pre- and post-trip accommodations. Enter your requested dates at checkout. Private trips are first-come, first-served!
PLEASE NOTE:
Selecting two days = 1 night camping
Selecting three days = 2 nights camping
Selecting four days = 3 night camping, so on and so forth!
For journey requests over 7 days (which we love), please contact us!
To stay in a hotel each night, please contact us!

Backpacking gear can be included at checkout
Registration deadline = BE requires a two-week notice
A $500 non-refundable deposit to reserve your dates is welcomed at checkout. After placing your deposit, BE will email you about your preferred payment plan. The deposit is applied to your overall balance. No worries, there's no interest, added fees, or credit checks. BE Simple!

Friendly, local, knowledgeable guides and most definitely Belay
All meals, snacks, and beverages on trail
All hiking and camping fees.
WHAT’S NOT INCLUDED:
Guide gratuity. 10% is customary.
Snacks, beverages, meals, and souvenirs bought in town.
RENTAL GEAR:
Renting gear? You can rent at checkout! All of your backpacking gear needs to fit inside your pack so check out the Gear List! Joining BE for just one day? No specialized gear needed.
AIRPORT: BE can pick you up and drop you off at the airport. Our recommended airports are Gunnison-Crested Butte (GUC) and Montrose Regional Airport (MTJ).
CANCELLATION & REFUND POLICY:
Journeyers who cancel their journey 90+ days before the start date will be refunded the total amount minus processing fees and the $500 non-refundable deposit.
Journeyers who cancel their journey 30 to 90 days before the start state will be refunded half the total amount minus processing fees.
Journeyers who cancel their journey less than 30 days before the start date will not be refunded.
Participants who choose to leave an active journey for any reason are not entitled to a refund. Due to the nature and heavy costs of operating permits, BE must adhere to the above itinerary and refund policy.
