The Belay Way
Once at boot camp at the age of 19, Belay received a letter from an older wiser friend. The letter read, “Each life experience is a building block for what is to come.” That letter was read only once more 14 years later at the age of 33. Belay read the letter, engrained those words in her mind, then watched the letter burn inside the wood-fired stove of her northern Maine wilderness cabin.
This action was a necessary step on her journey to become completely free of all possessions, obligations. and distractions. Her goal? To discover what made her truly happy. To unbecome everything in order to become who she actually wanted to be.
And with the building blocks of countless outdoor expeditions, her deep seated belief in the simple life, and her desire to constantly live a meaningful life she created BELAY EXPEDITIONS. An expedition company that focuses on pursuing dreams by living simply in nature.
