Hike a Colorado Fourteener in seven days!

OVERVIEW:

On this 7-day journey, we’ll gradually acclimate to 14,000’, sleep beside alpine lakes, dine in the Great Outdoors, and stand upon a famed Colorado fourteener! This journey is for those who want ample time in the wilderness because three days just won’t cut it. This totally immersive experience includes hotels on the front-end and back-end, five days backpacking through the San Juan wilderness, four nights camping above treeline, and all meals and snacks on the mountain. Backpacking gear and an airport shuttle can be included at checkout! Deposits and payment plans are welcomed here!

  • August 4-10, 2024

    • Lake City, CO; airport = Montrose Regional

    • Includes a cabin on the front-end and back-end!

    • Includes the summit of three Colorado 14rs and one Colorado 13r!

  • Custom dates available at checkout.

• Required Skill Level = Novice

• Exertion Level = Moderate

• Mileage = 18+

• High = 80’s Low = 40’s.

• Beginning & Ending Location = Buena Vista, CO or Lake City, CO

• Backpacking gear can be included at checkout

• Registration closes 2 weeks prior to arrival

Sunday, Day 1: Arrival

Let the acclimatization begin! Flying? BE can meet you at the airport! Driving? Meet BE at our hotel by 4:00pm. This evening we will have team welcome dinner, discuss our itinerary, prep gear, and divvy food. Tonight’s goals? Prep and rest. Welcome to Colorado! Included meals = Dinner. Accommodation = Hotel. Miles = 0.

Monday, Day 2: Boots to Ground

Good morning! After breakfast at our hotel we will drive one hour to our mountain! Once there, we lose service and civilization! “Into the mountains I go to lose my mind and find my soul,” John Muir. Let’s start hiking! Included meals = Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner. Accommodations = Tent. Miles = 2.5.

Tuesday, Day 3: Summit #1

Good early morning! Today, we stand atop our first fourteener and have lunch on the summit! Afterward, we’ll make our way back down to camp for some sun bathing and R&R alpine lakeside! Included meals = Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner. Accommodations = Tent. Miles = 4.

Wednesday, Day 4: East-Bound, Down, & Over

Today is a cool day! Where the goal is to get as close to our next two fourteeners as possible. We’ll still pitch camp in the early evening for a relaxing night but today’s hike is a bit of a rollercoaster with some ups, downs, and flats. No summits, just traversing. Included meals = Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner. Accommodations = Tent. Miles = 5.

Thursday, Day 5: Summit # 2 & 3

Good EARLY morning! What a fun day ahead! Today, we’ll have an early wakeup (maybe 4:00am) to catch the unobstructed sunrise coming up over the Rockies! This morning, we will push to our second summit with the sunrise and then traverse a super fun ridgeline to our third summit! Once at the second summit, we’ll celebrate, eat a much earned lunch, and chill! You deserve it, plus…it’s practically all downhill from here! CONGRATULATIONS!!! Tonight, we soak up our last night in The Great Outdoors! Included meals = Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner. Accommodations = Tent. Miles = 6.

Friday, Day 6: Down to Town

Good leisure morning! Sleep in, sip a lot of coffee, feel the sun on your face, and savor our last breakfast at camp. Today, we drop back down to our beginning trailhead which is where we’ll have lunch. Check-in time to our hotel is 3:00pm so we’re in no hurry. Tonight, we reward ourselves with fine dining and a shower. Our cabin is beyond peaceful which allows us to integrate back into society slowly. That’s intentional. Included meals = Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner. Accommodations = Hotel. Miles = 2.5.

Saturday, Day 7: Departure

Good last morning! Sip some coffee and take a stroll to the river. We’ll see you at breakfast. We need to checkout at 11:00am so we’ll return gear at 10:30am. Driving back to the airport with BE? It’s a 2-3 hour drive to the airport and we’ll head there at 11:00am. Book your return flight for no earlier than 4:00pm. Until next time, my friends. What a magical journey!

CANCELLATION & REFUND POLICY:

• Journeyers who cancel their journey 90+ days before the start date will be refunded the total amount minus processing fees and the $250 non-refundable deposit.

• Journeyers who cancel their journey30 to 90 days before the start state will be refunded half the total amount minus processing fees.

• Journeyers who cancel their journey less than 30 days before the start date will not be refunded.

• Participants who choose to leave an active journey for any reason are not entitled to a refund. Due to the nature and heavy costs of operating permits, BE must adhere to the above itinerary and refund policy.
