Hike Colorado with American Mountaineer & Rock Climber, Conrad Anker!
MEET CONRAD:
“The summit is what drives us, but it’s the climb that matters,” says American mountaineer, rock climber, and author Conrad Anker.
Conrad Anker is one of the most prolific explorers and mountaineers living today. His experience exceeds 40 years climbing and 50 expeditions around the globe. In addition to being the team leader of The North Face climbing team for 26 years, Conrad located the body of British climber, George Mallory, on his second Mount Everest expedition in 1999. Mallory was one of two climbers who died attempting the first summit of Mount Everest in 1924.
A few of Conrad’s most well-known accomplishments include:
Climbing Mount Everest three times
Achieving the first ascent of Meru’s Shark’s Fin with Jimmy Chin and Renan Ozturk. The Shark’s Fin is the most technically complicated and dangerous peak in the Himalayas scaled to date.
Having the first documented free climb of Mount Everest’s Second Step, and
Achieving the first ascent of the East Face of Vinson Massif in Antarctica with Jon Krakauer.
Conrad’s epic achievements have led to multiple films such as Shackleton's Antarctic Adventure (2001), Meru (2015), and Torn (2021). Torn is a recent documentary film about the tragic death via avalanche of Conrad’s life-long best friend and climbing partner, Alex Lowe, and Conrad’s subsequent marriage to Lowe’s widow, Jennifer Lowe-Anker.
In addition to Conrad’s films, he’s authored several books, one being The Lost Explorer: Finding Mallory on Everest. Lastly, Conrad selectively chooses to guest speak for companies that align with his values and come this July, Conrad Anker wants to speak to YOU in Colorado on Mount Antero!
