ITINERARY:
Day 1: Arrive Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO)
Welcome to Tanzania! Let the journey to the roof of Africa begin! After immigration, retrieving your bags, and clearing customs, our representative, identifiable by a BELAY EXPEDITIONS sign, will transport you to Mount Meru Hotel in Arusha (1-hour travel). Coming off Kilimanjaro? It’s your rest day! Enjoy one last night at the Mount Meru hotel! Included meals = Breakfast. Accommodations = Mount Meru Hotel.
Day 2: Safari-bound & Maasai Tribe!
In the morning after breakfast, we will drive to Ngorongoro Conservation Area en route to our lodge. On the way, we will visit a Maasai Village and participate in their cultural ceremonies and learn about their way of life. Tonight, we will sleep at the beyond beautiful Ngorongoro Serena Safari Lodge as we overlook the crater and peer down into tomorrow’s festivities! Meals included = Breakfast, Lunch, & Dinner. Accommodations = Serena Safari Lodge.
Day 3: Ngorongoro Crater - Walking Tour & Game Drive
Good morning! After breakfast, we’ll stretch our legs and enjoy a walking tour along Ngorongoro Crater’s rim! After lunch, we’ll drive down and into the crater for an afternoon and early dusk game drive! We’ll be looking for Africa’s Big Five: African Lion, African Elephant, Spotted Leopard, Cape Buffalo, and Black Rhinoceros. Post-game drive, we’ll head back up to the lodge for one more sleep on the rim! Included meals = Breakfast, Lunch, & Dinner. Accommodations: Serena Safari Lodge.
Day 4: Serengeti National Park
After breakfast, we will head to one of the most famous national parks in the world - Serengeti National Park. In addition to the Big Five, we can expect to see herds of brilliant Zebra, Giraffe, Wildebeest, Gazelle, Impala, and Cheetah! Lunch will be in the heart of the Serengeti. Post-lunch, we’ll head to our awesome backcountry safari bush camp for a night in luxurious Hemingway Tents! They’re simply the best! Included meals = Breakfast, Lunch, & Dinner. Accommodations = Hemingway Tent.
Day 5: Hot Air Balloon Ride!
Good early morning! Today we are celebrating with champagne and a hot air balloon ride over the Serengeti! After breakfast and celebratory libations, we will head back to our bush camp for our final night in our Hemingway tents. Sad! Included meals = Breakfast, Lunch, & Dinner. Accommodations = Hemingway Tent.
Day 6: Back to Arusha
It’s our final morning in the Serengeti! After breakfast, we’ll leisurely make our way back to Arusha for a final night in Africa at Planet Lodge and Spa by the airport. It’s a long drive so along the way we will make a pitstop for lunch at a lovely gallery full of art, jewelry, souvenirs, and coffee! Included meals = Breakfast & Lunch. Accommodations = Airport Planet Lodge & Spa.
Day 7: Departure
Today, our hotel will shuttle you to the airport for your international flight home. The drive to the airport is just 10 minutes away! We encourage you to arrive at the airport 2.5 hours before departure. Thank you for spending seven days of your life with us in Africa! Until next time! Included meals = Breakfast.

CANCELLATION & REFUND POLICY:
Participants who choose to leave an active journey for any reason are not entitled to a refund. Due to the nature and heavy costs of operating permits, BE must adhere to the above itinerary and refund policy.
Journeyers who cancel their journey 90+ days before the start date will be refunded the total amount minus processing fees and the $1,000 non-refundable deposit.
Journeyers who cancel their journey 30 to 90 days before the start state will be refunded half the total amount minus processing fees.
Journeyers who cancel their journey less than 30 days before the start date will not be refunded.
