ITINERARY:

Day 1: Arrive Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO)

Welcome to Tanzania! Let the journey to the roof of Africa begin! After immigration, retrieving your bags, and clearing customs, our representative, identifiable by a BELAY EXPEDITIONS sign, will transport you to Mount Meru Hotel in Arusha (1-hour travel). Coming off Kilimanjaro? It’s your rest day! Enjoy one last night at the Mount Meru hotel! Included meals = Breakfast. Accommodations = Mount Meru Hotel.

Day 2: Safari-bound! Maasai Tribe & Walking Tour

In the morning after breakfast, we will drive to Ngorongoro Conservation Area en route to our lodge. On the way, we will visit a Maasai Village and participate in their cultural ceremonies and learn about their way of life. Tonight, we will sleep at the beyond beautiful Ngorongoro Serena Safari Lodge as we overlook the crater and tomorrow’s festivities! This evening, we will have a walking tour along the rim. We can expect to see the Maasai herding cattle as well as wild animals! Meals included = Breakfast, Lunch, & Dinner. Accommodations = Serena Safari Lodge.

Day 3: Ngorongoro Crater

Good morning! After breakfast, we will drive down into Ngorongoro crater for a full day game drive. We’ll be looking for Africa’s Big Five: African Lion, African Elephant, Spotted Leopard, Cape Buffalo, and Black Rhinoceros. Post-game drive, we’ll drive to the Serengeti to sleep in Hemingway tents. Don’t know what a Hemingway tent is? Google them, They’re a must when experiencing the Serengeti! On the way, we’ll visit the site of an ancient ancestor named Lucy. Included meals = Breakfast, Lunch, & Dinner. Accommodations: Hemingway Tents.

Day 4: Serengeti National Park

After breakfast, we will explore one of the most famous national parks in the world - Serengeti National Park. In addition to the Big Five, we can expect to see herds of brilliant Zebra, Giraffe, Wildebeest, Gazelle, Impala, and Cheetah! Lunch will be in the heart of the Serengeti. Post-game drive, we will head back to our Hemingway tents for our last night in the Serengeti! Included meals = Breakfast, Lunch, & Dinner. Accommodations = Hemingway tent.

Day 5: Hot Air Balloon Ride!

Good early morning! Today we are celebrating with champagne and a hot air balloon ride over the Serengeti! After breakfast and libations, we will head back to Arusha for our final night in our resort and spa. It’s a long drive so along the way, we will make a pitstop at a lovely gallery full of art, jewelry, souvenirs, and coffee! Included meals = Breakfast & Lunch. Accommodations = Airport Planet Lodge & Spa.

Day 6: Depart for Home

It’s our last morning in Africa! Today, the hotel will shuttle you to the airport for your international flight home. The drive to the airport is just 10 minutes away!
