OVERVIEW:
We drive up, you ride down! The Alpine Loop Bike Shuttle departs Lake City at 8:00am and 1:00pm and can carry four passengers and four bikes at one time!
Our 8:00am shuttle drops you off 20 miles up mountain at Grizzly Gulch Trailhead near Handies Peak, Redcloud Peak, Sunshine Peak, and the American Basin along County Road 30 (Cinnamon Pass road). Dropping nearly 2,100’ in elevation, this ride will be a three hour joy ride as you descend through spruce-fir forests, aspen groves, along Shelf Road, beside Lake San Cristobal, and then finally through the heart of town!
Our 1:00pm shuttle drops you off 10 miles up mountain at North Fork Henson Creek near the Uncompaghre Peak and Mount Wetterhorn Trailheads along County Road 20 (Engineer Pass road). Dropping 1,000’ in elevation, this ride will be about 1.5 hours as you descend through lush forests, beneath sheer cliffs, along the roaring Henson Creek, and then around twisty turns that bring you straight into historic downtown Lake City.
Each shuttle will get you back to town right in time for lunch or dinner! Don’t have a bike? Rent ours! They were made for the Alpine Loop!

LOGISTICS:
Meet BE in at the BE office at 8:00am or 1:00pm for coffee, forms, and bike rentals. Our office is located above the bank in historic downtown Lake City, suite #4! The 8:00am shuttle has a 1-hour shuttle ride to the trailhead. The 1:00pm shuttle has a 30-minute shuttle ride the the trailhead.
CANCELLATION & REFUND POLICY:
Journeyers who cancel their journey 90+ days before the start date will be refunded the total amount minus processing fees.
Journeyers who cancel their journey 30 to 90 days before the start state will be refunded half the total amount minus processing fees.
Journeyers who cancel their journey less than 30 days before the start date will not be refunded.
Participants who choose to leave an active journey for any reason are not entitled to a refund. Due to the nature and heavy costs of operating permits, BE must adhere to the above itinerary and refund policy.
