RIVER SECTIONS:
BE separates the Lake Fork River into four sections and we provide shuttles for three of them. At checkout, you will enter your take-out (pick up) spot and your put-in (drop off) spot.
Lake City Memorial Park > Independence Gulch. ADVANCED. This is a 7-mile paddle through class 2+ & class 3 rapids. Paddle experience is required! This is a super fun section that offers minor drops and medium-size rapids to build your paddling confidence and skill level. Please only do this section after you’ve done our intermediate section!
Independence Gulch > The Gate Campground. INTERMEDIATE. This is a 7-mile paddle through a narrow and windy canyon with class 2 rapids. Experience is not required for this section but would be helpful. This is an excellent section to improve your paddling turns.
The Gate Campground > Red Bridge. BEGINNER. This is a 7-mile paddle through mountain valleys and private pastures with primarily class 1 water which is similar to a float! Experience is not needed for this section and is perfect for beginner paddlers. Never paddled the Lake Fork? Choose this section first!
Have questions regarding which section is right for you? Please call BE at 385-498-2761. Whitewater paddling is a high risk outdoor activity with life-threatening consequences and we want to set you up for success. Your safety is our top priority! Now go paddle!
