Spend substantial time in one of the most beautiful places in America - the high Uintas of Utah. Stroll though wildflower basins, sleep at turquoise alpine lakes, work your way over mountain passes, and stand upon Utah’s highest mountain - Kings Peak. Rising to 13,528’, Kings Peak is nestled in the heart of the Uintas and requires substantial time to reach her. Time that is filled with solitude, heavenly views, peace, and not an ounce of civilization. This 7-day journey circumnavigates you around Kings to experience all sides of her glory.
This 7-day, 6-night journey includes one hotel on the front-end, one hotel on the back-end, five full days hiking, four nights in tents, all meals on the mountain, and all transportation once in Utah. Backpacking gear can be included at checkout. Deposits and payment plans are welcomed at checkout!

ITINERARY:
Day 1: Arrival & Prep
Welcome to Utah! A state that lives life elevated! Let’s meet at 4:00pm in Salt Lake City! Flying? BE will pick you up the airport at 3:00pm. Tonight, we’ll discuss the itinerary over a team welcome dinner, become comfortable with gear, divide up food, and simply get to know each other. Included meals = Dinner. Accommodations = Hotel. Miles = 0.
Day 2: Into the Wilderness we go to lose our minds and find our souls
Today we are boots to ground! After our 2.5 hours drive to the trailhead, we’ll hiking a leisure five miles to camp with the majority of those miles being in an aspen and evergreen forest. The majestic Red Castle is in sight! Included meals = Breakfast, Lunch, & Dinner. Accommodations = Tent. Miles = 5.
Day 3: What seems so far away is often right around the corner
Good morning! Sip some coffee and eat some breakfast. Today is another leisure day as we make our way up to Red Castle Lake! Have you ever seen anything more beautiful? Camp is cozy lakeside tonight, with a honey orange ginger tea to boot! Included meals = Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner. Accommodations = Tent. Miles = 5.
Day 4: High Camp
Today, we are Kings Peak-bound! Our goal is to get within two miles of the summit! This will take us up and over a pass then down into Yellowstone Basin. Tomorrow, we push for the summit! Included meals = Breakfast, Lunch, & Dinner. Accommodations = Tent. Miles = 5.
Day 5: These views? This feeling? For Kings.
Good EARLY morning! Today is YOUR day! And we’re going to wake up really early so we can make it as perfect as possible! We have a 1-mile stretch of uphill boulder hopping. It’ll take some time but at the end of the boulder hopping is our summit! Congratulations on an epic feat and a beautiful journey toward the sky. After our summit, we’ll drop off the other side of the mountain toward Upper Painter Basin and Gunsight Pass. This is where our circumnavigation begins, we’re not heading back the way we came. Cheers to a successful summit and to standing on the highest mountain in Utah! Included meals = Breakfast, Lunch, & Dinner. Accommodations = Tent. Miles = 11.
Day 6 : Henry’s Fork Basin & Hotel
We’re on our way out of the wilderness but not before we saunter through the heavenly vast meadows of Henry’s Fork Basin! Awe-inspiring view for miles with not an ounce of civilization in sight! Check-in to the hotel is at 4:00pm so we’ll have substantial time to soak up our final few moments in The Great Outdoors! Included meals = Breakfast, Lunch, & Dinner. Accommodations = Hotel. Miles = 9.
Day 7: Going to the mountains was going home - Departure
Today, we part ways. I guess we’re homeward-bound although I would argue we’ve been home for the last seven days. Hotel check-out is at 11:00am, soak up your R&R till then. We will head back to SLC at 11:00am. Be sure to book your return flight for no earlier than 3:00pm. Until next time, my friends! Meals included = Breakfast. Accommodations = N/A. Miles = 0.

Journeyers who cancel their journey less than 30 days before the start date will not be refunded.
Participants who choose to leave an active journey for any reason are not entitled to a refund. Due to the nature and heavy costs of operating permits, BE must adhere to the above itinerary and refund policy.
