Mount Everest - Earth’s highest mountain - rises to 29,032 ‘. This Seven Summit belongs to Asia, is located in Nepal, and is the border between Nepal and Tibet. Mount Everest calls to all mountaineers, especially those in pursuit of the famed Seven Summits.

This 55-day journey is approximately 90 miles total with trekking to and from base camp being 80 of the 90. Once at Everest Base Camp, Mount Everest is just 5 miles away! Our intricately designed itinerary allows a healthy amount of time for altitude acclimation and skill development. Mount Everest is a high altitude, technical expedition. Journeyers must be in tiptop shape as well as have previous mountaineering experience. BELAY EXPEDITIONS offers a 6-month training plan and additional Seven Summits for skill development.

COSTS INCLUDE:

  • Airport pickup in Kathmandu

  • All transportation in Nepal, including a round-trip fixed-wing flight from Kathmandu to Lukla

  • 3-night accommodations in Kathmandu at Hotel Yak & Yeti – two nights before and one night after

  • Lodging for all nights during the trek to-and-from base camp

Your Mount Everest Gear List can be found here! The comprehensive list will highlight everything you need to bring and everything that you can rent through BELAY EXPEDITIONS. Rental gear is shipped to your home address one month prior to the expedition in a box with a pre-paid return label. Gear Rentals can be included at checkout or purchases a la carte.

BE offers personalized payment plans to best meet your needs. To begin a payment plan, place a deposit here. Afterward, BE will email you regarding personalized monthly payment plans. No worries, there’s no interest or added fees. Our goal is to get you outside, living simply, and pursuing dreams. Our payment plans help you and us do that! All balances are due 120 days prior to expedition. Expeditionists whose balances are not received by the 120-day deadline risk forfeiture of their funds and their place on the expedition. Please note that deposits are non-refundable.

CANCELLATION/REFUND POLICY:

  • All balances are due 120 days prior to departure date unless otherwise specified. Participants whose balances are not received by the 120-day deadline as stated above risk forfeiture of their funds and their place on the expedition.

  • There are no refunds for the deposit. Furthermore, there are no refunds for balance payments past the 120-day deadline. This includes but is not limited to, expeditions that conclude without reaching or making progress towards the summit due to route conditions, weather, insufficient manpower, or any other factor outside the control of BELAY EXPEDITIONS and Madison Mountaineering.

  • Expedition leader has the final say on the expedition conclusion and will make all best efforts towards reaching the summit within our margin of safety.

  • Participants that choose to leave an active expedition for any reason are not entitled to any refunds.

  • Due to the nature and heavy costs of government and operator permits, BELAY EXPEDITIONS and Madison Mountaineering must adhere to a stringent refund policy.

WHAT TO EXPECT AFTER BOOKING:

Post-deposit and/or booking, BELAY EXPEDITIONS will send you a registration packet. You can also expect monthly emails from BE to get you prepped for Mount Everest! Seven Summits require a lot of preparation and we help you accomplish those tasks one-by-one. Our emails talk about clothing, visas, passports, vaccines, gear, training, etc. We got your back on and off the mountain!

Garrett Madison, owner of Madison Mountaineering and America’s premier Mount Everest guide and Expedition Leader, began guiding professionally in 1999 on Mount Rainier and has reached the top of Mount Everest 13 times. He has personally led 80+ climbers to the summit of Everest more than any other guide. In 2011, Garrett led the first expedition in history where climbers succeeded in the Everest – Lhotse combination, reaching the summit of two 8000-meter peaks back to back in less than 24 hours. 

In 2014, Garrett led the first successfully guided ascent of K2, arguably the hardest and most dangerous mountain in the world. Garrett also regularly guides many ‘Seven Summits’ expeditions during the year such as Mount Vinson, Carstensz Pyramid, Mount Elbrus, Aconcagua, Kilimanjaro, and Denali, as well as first ascents of unclimbed peaks in the Himalayas.

As a two time Emmy award-winning producer, Garrett is regularly consulted on Everest and other film productions, including Sports Illustrated’s Capturing Everest & NFL production’s Searching for the Summit.
